Isle of Man and Guernsey Air Bridge. Unrestricted Travel announced between the two Islands

Mon, 29 Jun 2020

The Isle of Man is once again open to the outside world!

Following an agreement between the governments of the Isle of Man and Guernsey, an ‘Air Bridge’ is now in place, allowing visitors to travel freely between the two jurisdictions - without any need for self-isolating on arrival, or return.

It’s the first such air bridge that’s been established by any governments in the British Isles and the first between two jurisdictions within the British Isles.

Commercial flights will begin from July 22nd, initially running for a six-week period. Guernsey’s airline, Aurigny, will be the official carrier between the two Islands.

The decision to establish the air bridge follows a series of discussions between the Isle of Man and Guernsey Governments’ Public Health teams. Neither location has seen any new cases of COVID-19 for many weeks and given that both jurisdictions have very similar measures in place for border controls, robust testing and contact tracing capabilities, it’s been decided that people should be allowed to travel freely between the two destinations.
