The Isle of Man Darts Festival is with one of the most iconic, eagerly anticipated and best attended events in the BDO calendar. For three decades, hundreds of darts enthusiasts have been flocking to the island not just to participate, not just lured by the guarantee of over £30,000 in prize money, but almost uniquely, just to be a part of what many consider to be the biggest 'party event' of the year.
Held at the Villa Marina in Douglas, for the hundreds who make the pilgrimage every year, it's not just about seeing the top players in action. It's also about having a great time, sharing a few days away with your mates, or in many cases, with the entire darts team!
Biggest Names in the Sport
The event attracts the biggest names in the sport and the main singles crown, one of the most prestigious titles in BDO darts, has been won over the years by the likes of Gary Anderson, Dave Chisnall, Ted Hankey, Scott Waites, Dennis Harbour, Steve Bunting, Robbie Green, Darryl Fitton – and the great Phil Taylor.
The allure of the tournament has never been greater, with the ranking status of the main men’s and ladies singles events now at CAT A+ level, whilst the Isle of Man Classic events have also been upgraded in recent times, with the men's rising from CAT C to CAT B and the ladies being raised from CAT C to CAT A.
