Isle of Man Walking Holidays

Walking is one of the most popular year-round pastimes on the Isle of Man – and it’s easy to see why!

With its ever-changing vista of scenic hills and moors, picturesque glens and forests, spectacular coastlines, miles of sandy beaches and rugged coves, the wealth of walks around the Isle of Man boast some of the finest scenery in the entire United Kingdom.

Whether your preference is an energetic hike or a gentle stroll, heading out on foot is one of the best ways to relax, unwind and take in the beauty and diversity of the Island’s stunning landscapes and wildlife.

At Isle of Man Events, we specialise in organising guided or self-guided walks - from large groups of ramblers to those looking for a more solitary outdoor experience, we can plan your visit - every step of the way!  We also organise the annual five day event Walk the Isle of Man.

Here are three walks we highly recommend:

The Raad Ny Follan Coastal Path

It’s actually possible to circumvent the entire coastline via the Raad Ny Follan, the well maintained and signposted coastal footpath. Almost 100 miles all the way round, you’ll get to experience the breathtaking – and we mean breathtaking – beauty of the Isle of Man.

The Millennium Way

The Millennium Way is a long distance footpath, opened in 1979 to mark the 1000th year of the Island’s Parliament. The path is approximately 28 miles long, stretching across the heart of the Isle of Man between Castletown and Ramsey, covering roads, marked paths and open moorland.

The Herring Way

Known as 'Bayr ny Skeddan' in Manx, the 14 mile Herring Way walk extends from the coast at Peel to Castletown, via Glen Maye and South Barrule. Covering public roads and footpaths and rising to a height of 1000ft at the Round Table, it was once the route taken by Manx fishermen as they journeyed between the two ports.
